Caravan & Horse Box Photo Booth

Case Study

Caravan & Horsebox Photo Booth

The Caravan Photo Booth is a vintage photo booth based in Worthing, available to hire for weddings and events across the South of England. Inside ‘Rosie’ is a DSLR camera and a range of comedy props, perfect for taking snaps to treasure forever. Since the business began in 2013, the Caravan Photo Booth has attended the weddings of many happy couples, and in 2015, the owners of the caravan introduced a sister photo booth – the Horse Box.

We began working with the Caravan Photo Booth in 2013, when the business was starting from scratch. The exciting process of photography, web design, social media marketing and videography began, and two years later in 2015, we repeated the process for the Horse Box Photo Booth.

Challenges

Marketing a business completely from scratch is always a challenge, and the wedding supplier business is a huge one. We needed to market the Photo Booths as something completely unique, and get them noticed in an industry full of choices.

Results

Using SEO, we were able push the Photo Booths to the top of search engine results for caravan and horse box photo booths. The photo booth’s were the first of their kind, so we used this as a unique selling point for each one, and the photo’s we took showed off their individuality.

Ongoing

This business has now been sold to new owners, however we have been able to pass on the wonderful work that has been done and train the new owners to keep up the blog and social media efforts to keep enquiries and bookings coming in.

More Detail

Our work with the Caravan Photo Booth began in 2013, when the business was just starting from scratch. This presented an exciting challenge for us – marketing a business right from the very beginning. We started by taking high quality photographs of Rosie the caravan inside and out, which we could then use across all the marketing, both online and in print. We then started designing a responsive WordPress website using those photographs to really showcase everything the Caravan Photo Booth has to offer. Each page was carefully optimised for SEO through key words and phrases, and now sits at the very top of Google’s search results when the term ‘caravan photo booth’ is entered.

The second step was creating social media accounts, and building a following for the Caravan Photo Booth. We started with Facebook, and by using strategic campaigns, regular updates and promoted posts, the ‘like’ count now stands at over 1000. Facebook is a fantastic way to share the photos taken by guests at weddings too, creating a buzz after each one as those who attended share the Photo Booth snaps with their friends. We also set up a Twitter page, which allowed the Caravan Photo Booth to interact with couples, their guests, venues, and similar businesses.

The success of the Caravan Photo Booth continued to grow as more and more people fell in love with Rosie’s vintage feel and high quality output. Bookings flooded in throughout 2014, and there were plenty of dates booked for 2015 before the year even began. These fantastic results prompted the owners of the Caravan Photo Booth to expand, and in 2015 the Horse Box Photo Booth was born, the first of its kind in the country. We were thrilled to begin the whole process again.

The Horse Box Photo Booth was an instant hit with equestrian themed weddings, horse-mad brides, and those who just wanted the perfect vintage Photo Booth. Again, we took high quality photographs of the Horse Box and incorporated them into a beautiful WordPress website. We then used the social media for Caravan Photo Booth to market the new Horse Box Facebook & Twitter pages to existing Photo Booth fans, and repeated the process of campaigns, updates and promoted posts to gain new likes and followers.

Following the success of both Photo Booths, they have been sold on to new owners, who are working through the many bookings scheduled for 2016. We have had the pleasure of training the new owners to keep up the social media and websites for these businesses. We’re proud of our involvement with the photo booths, and wish them every success in the future.
