SchoolsBuddy

Case Study

SchoolsBuddy

SchoolsBuddy, a tech start up business based in Worthing, is an activities management tool for schools across the world. The app driven software puts emphasis on organisation, communication, and safegaurding within schools, and revolutionises the way teachers communicate with parents and pupils in this modern age.

We began working with SchoolsBuddy in early 2015, when they came to us needing help with to build their general website and content. They also asked us to take care of their blog posts and social media, something they were too busy building the business to devote time to.

Challenges

Whilst the SchoolsBuddy software is easy to use, there is an element of complexity when it comes to detailing all it’s advantages, and this was the main challenge that we faced. The content we wrote had to be easy to understand, but still explain the product in full.

Results

We’ve created a WordPress website that splits up explanations of different elements of the software into what it can be used for, and who would be interested in using it. This made sure all the details were included, and emphasised equally within the content.

Ongoing

We continue to create blog posts with SEO in mind to keep SchoolsBuddy at the top of search engine results. We also manage the SchoolsBuddy Facebook and Twitter accounts, updating them regularly and sharing relevant content.

More Detail

SchoolsBuddy approached us when they had reached the end of the developing their software, and were ready to get it out into the world. We began by building a responsive WordPress website to showcase everything that the app could do, and that meant breaking it down by it’s most important elements. The emphasis at SchoolsBuddy is on communication, organisation, and safeguarding within schools, and so we concentrated on those three topics as a basis for the layout.

Once the website was completed, we turned our attention to a brand video. We had used an animation technique for several promotional videos for past clients, and this was a style that particularly appealed to SchoolsBuddy. We made two videos, one being a general overview of everything the software could do, and another that concentrated just on the safeguarding element, as this is a hot topic within education. These helped demonstrate the key messages, and are a great focus point for the website.

Social media was also something SchoolsBuddy were keen on getting involved with, but just didn’t have the time to devote to it. We set up a Facebook and a Twitter account, and began to establish them with regular posts, as well as sharing existing content from others relevant to the SchoolsBuddy ethos. We also got to work on blog posts geared to SEO, blending creative ideas and engaging information to ensure we covered a diverse range of topics that helped the website climb the search engine rankings. We continue to create these for SchoolsBuddy, and by sharing them on social media under education related hashtags, we’re able to see them be shared by others.

We continue to work with SchoolsBuddy as their business blossoms, and we’re excited to be involved with the ongoing blog entries, social media management, and web maintenance associated with this revolutionary software.
